Job Description:
The successful Web Architect will serve as a key team member in leading and coordinating development and related teams through the full SDLC on a variety of projects delivered using leading edge Microsoft technologies. He/she is responsible for performing the user interface development, media production and system development tasks necessary to realize interactive solutions. You must be comfortable working in most areas of Web development, from collaboration with a designer on layout to content creation and manipulation, code development, testing and deployment. He/she will be responsible for defining, designing, developing and deploying client solutions with accountability for the following:
- Architecting extensible, scalable, and re-usable applications
- Defining and maintaining project scope and requirements
- Assisting and mentoring the development team
- Working closely with clients to solve business challenges
What is expected:
The selected candidate must be adaptable, able to work without a lot of direction and provide solutions that will fit into an overall re-useable framework. A variety of design patterns and other OOAD methodologies as well as Persistence Frameworks such as Hibernate and Torque are in use so a broad scope of expertise in object oriented design is a must for the position. He/she also must have a firm grasp on delivering enterprise applications using a variety of Web-based technologies. Technology decisions are driven by client needs and budgets so open source is used when possible, in addition to SQL Server databases in use include MySQL and Oracle. There are occasions where content management systems, portal, CRM and ERP solutions are part of the client solution so expertise in these areas is helpful. This is a client-facing role so expertise in working with challenging clients and functional teams is necessary.
All members of the Technical team are expected to fully engage with their ideas, experiences, new opportunities and technologies. Collaboration is encouraged and requires a willingness to contribute effectively and be receptive to critique. An acumen that fosters work products that are easily understood, maintainable, reliable and repeatable is essential. If you can manage multiple priorities, work within deadlines and provide accurate estimations of effort you really should be here.
Some travel could be required.
